Understand the issue before
deciding what to change.

Slow laptop or computer?

A computer that feels slow does not tell the whole story. Does it take a long time to start, struggle with one application, or only feel slow when browsing the internet? Those are different symptoms and deserve different questions.

In your enquiry, include the operating system, the approximate age of the device and when the slowdown began. Mention recent changes, such as new software or an update. This helps establish whether software troubleshooting is a sensible first step or whether a hardware assessment may be more appropriate.

Describe your computer problem

Wi-Fi dropping out or poor coverage?

“The internet is down” can mean that one laptop is disconnected, a room has weak Wi-Fi, or every device has lost access. Before changing settings, note which devices are affected and whether the problem changes when you move closer to the router.

For a home or small-business network in Jávea, describe the layout, your router and any additional access points or extenders. Say whether the problem is constant or intermittent. These details help distinguish a local connection issue from something to raise with your internet provider.

Explain your Wi-Fi issue

Printer offline or not connecting?

A printer can appear unavailable even when it is switched on. Useful clues include whether it is connected by USB or Wi-Fi, whether other devices can print, and whether the printer itself displays an error.

Send the printer model and tell me which computer or phone you are printing from. Describe whether nothing happens, jobs remain in the queue, or an error appears. There is no need to buy a replacement before you understand what is failing.

Ask about a printer connection

Email or website not working properly?

For email problems, explain whether you cannot sign in, send messages or receive them. Include the app you use and whether the same account works in a browser. Copy the error wording, but never send your password or a verification code.

For website troubleshooting, include the page address and the steps that trigger the issue. If a contact form is failing, say whether visitors see an error or the message simply never reaches the inbox. Clear examples are more useful than a general description that the website is broken.

Local context, without the jargon.

IT Troubleshooting is based in Jávea, also known as Xàbia, on Spain’s Costa Blanca. The focus is practical technology guidance for local residents and small businesses. If you are nearby, include your location when you write. Whether an enquiry can be taken on depends on the problem, the type of help needed and current availability.

02 / THE PERSON BEHIND THE PAGE

Hello,
I’m Alex.

Based in Jávea / Xàbia
Costa Blanca, Spain

An IT background.
A real-world approach.

I trained in application development and also learned systems integration. My background includes Windows and Linux systems, Oracle and MySQL databases, and looking after business networks, computers and printers.

I’ve also worked on internet installations in the region, including satellite connections. That experience taught me to start by understanding the whole setup, not just the device showing the error.

Today, my main work is in cycling and SEO. IT Troubleshooting is a small, independent space for practical technology guidance and selected enquiries from Jávea and the surrounding area.

03 / KEEP IT SIMPLE

A good description
is a good first step.

A few useful details make it easier to
understand whether I can help.

01

Tell me the problem

Which device or service is affected? What happens, and when did it start?

02

Add a little context

Mention what you’ve already tried. An error message or screenshot can help — leave out passwords and private information.

03

We work out what’s next

I’ll let you know whether the issue fits my experience and current availability. Scope and any cost are agreed before work begins.

COMMON QUESTIONS

Before you get in touch.

Can I enquire about IT support in English?

Yes. Send your enquiry in English using the contact form below. Describe the problem in your own words; you do not need to diagnose it first or know the technical terms.

Do you offer computer repairs in Jávea?

You can enquire about computer and software problems. This is an independent troubleshooting service by arrangement, not a walk-in repair shop. Physical repairs, replacement parts and specialist recovery are not advertised here. I’ll confirm whether your issue is a suitable fit before any work is agreed.

Can you help a small business with IT issues?

Selected enquiries about office computers, network connections, printers, email and websites are welcome. Explain how the issue affects your work and how many devices or people are affected. This is not a managed IT contract or an emergency help desk.

Is remote IT support possible?

That depends on the problem and availability. Start with a description in the contact form so we can establish whether remote troubleshooting is suitable. Remote access is only considered after agreeing the work and how access will be provided.

What does troubleshooting cost?

There is no fixed price published here because enquiries vary. Any proposed work, scope and cost are agreed in advance. Submitting an enquiry does not book a paid service or commit you to a repair.

What should I include in my enquiry?

Your location, the device or service involved, what is going wrong, when it started and what you have already tried. Add the exact error message if you have one. Remove private information from screenshots and keep passwords and verification codes to yourself.
